Terry Lee Fulton, age 66, Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy, Retired, of Meadow Lakes Blvd, Cedartown, GA, died Friday evening, April 13, 2012, in a Rome hospital.
Mr. Fulton was born in Somerset, PA, on May 30, 1945, the son of the late Clyde Harold Fulton and the late Olive Irene Davis Fulton. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, NJ, and had received a Master's Degree in human resources. Mr. Fulton also held a Bachelor's Degree. He had been a 12 year resident of Cedartown and was a Retired Lt Commander from the United States Navy, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. Mr. Fulton was a Vietnam veteran and was also retired from Cobb County, GA as Cobb County fleet maintenance manager. For a period of time Mr. Fulton was also associated with McKee Baking Company.
Mr. Fulton is survived by his wife, Jane Aycock Fulton, to whom he was married on May 23, 1972; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri Ellen Jennings and her husband, Ken of Cedartown; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Angela Fulton of LaFayette, GA; seven grandchildren, Kerry, Emily, Cami, and Taylor Jennings, Steven, Daniel and Sammy Fulton. A brother, Gary Fulton, of Hobe Sound, FL, also survives. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Fulton will be held on Monday afternoon, April 16, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Foley officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion Honor Guard conferring military graveside rites. The Patriot Guard Riders will provide an escort from the funeral home to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
