Thomas William "Bill" Crumley, age 91 of Rome, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 24th, 2011 at a Rome Hospital.
Mr. Crumley was born in Floyd County on July 4th, 1920, the son of the late Noah and Cora Clemones Crumley. He had spent the great part of his life in Floyd County and was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Crumley was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Prior to Mr. Crumley's retirement, he owned and operated Crumley's Food Mart for a number of years, owned and operated The Bait Shop at the Lock and Dam for a number of years and was in the used car business for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Wells Crumley of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Van and Patricia Crumley of Rome; a sister Martha of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services for Thomas William "Bill" Crumley will be held on Saturday morning, August 27th, 2011 at 11 o'clock from the graveside of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rayford Davenport officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
