William Earl Elliott

June 4, 1932 — February 8, 2015

William Earl Elliott, age 82, of Rome, passed away on Feb. 8, 2015. Earl was a native of Rome and graduated from Model High School. He was a US Marine Veteran serving from 1950-1957 when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant, becoming known as "Eggnog" to his friends. Mr. Elliott was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and member of American Legion Post #5. Earl also enjoyed sports and bowled in leagues for many years. He was a brick mason for the majority of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Trammell Elliott and his sister Brenda.

Earl is survived by his three children, Anthony (Tanja) Elliott, Denese Elliott Steward and Cynthia Elliott (Charles) Radford; four grandchildren, Ben Elliott, Ashley Steward, Jourdain Elliott and Dustin Steward; one great granddaughter, Hallie Elizabeth; 2 sisters, Dot and Ethel along with many other loving family members.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at the funeral home also at 1:00 pm on Thursday with burial to follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ben Elliott, Pat Rayburn, Travis White, Darryl Ledford, Jesse Self and Kurt Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be J.P. Reid, Edmond Cescutti, Bob Cescutti and Ronald Cescutti. Following the funeral service the family will be at Mr. Elliott's residence.
