William (Bill) Vann Early, age 79, of Rome, Ga, passed away on Tuesday, August
Bill was born on January 8, 1943. He was the son of the late Wanda and William
Harper Early. He graduated from Coosa High School, served as a United States
Marine, and attended Shorter College. He enjoyed raising and riding horses,
reading, playing cards, chess, watching TV, and traveling out west in the motor
home. He loved dogs and lost his last one, Blue, a short time ago. Bill was a good
man, compassionate, kind, devoted to his family.
Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Barbara Shipley Early, and a sister,
Carolyn Early Holtzendorf. He also leaves behind the daughter he never had,
Shannon Conway. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and
cousins also survive.
As per his request he will be cremated and there will be no formal services. A
celebration of life will be held at a later date. One day he wants our ashes to be scattered in the Rockies.
Special thanks go to Homestead Hospice’s Mary, and to Shannon and Traci
Green, his main caregivers.
